Four new tipper trucks have been put into service after an Ipswich-based operator chose Renault Truck C models.

The operator – J T Few Plant Hire – said exceptional service from Renault was a key factor in the deal.

In addition, the company was also impressed by the dealer network.

Specifically, the quartet of tippers are 32 tonne C430 8x4s, fitted with Marshall’s Hardox Lightweight tipping bodies.

Furthermore, four more C430 eight-wheelers are planned for later in 2022.

The tipper trucks were supplied by Norfolk Truck and Van.

They will operate across the Ipswich area, bringing aggregates back to the operator’s own recycling centre.

Ben Few, director, J T FEW Plant Hire, is a long-standing customer of Renault Trucks.

“Having worked with Renault Trucks since the 1990s, they have been extremely good to us over the years,” he explained.

“To be honest, we just don’t experience the breakdown issues that we do with other manufacturers.”

The new C430s are the latest ‘Evolution’ models that bring major improvements.

For example, there are upgrades in driving comfort, enhanced on-board safety and productivity.

Meanwhile, the new tipper trucks have been fitted with the Optidriver AT2612F gearbox with automatic clutch.

In addition, they are equipped with Renault Trucks Euro VI Step E engines.

As a result, the operator hopes to reduce fuel consumption thanks the the new technology onboard.,

“We got three manufacturers to quote for four trucks, asking for their best price, first time,” explains Few.

“Norfolk Truck and Van was the only one to listen to the brief and offer the best price.”

In other words, the dealer support was an essential part of the deal.

Concluding, Few stated: “The Renault Trucks dealer coverage in the area is unrivalled.

“Recently, Renault Trucks has been far more accommodating in keeping our lorries on the road.”
