An XG investment leads to more DAFs for haulier Keyo

News

More DAFs are on their way to Lincolnshire-based agricultural haulier Keyo, thanks to two XGs impressing the operator.

Keyo took delivery of two XG 530 FTGs and the duo have quickly become firm favourites.

As a result, the three-axle tractor units will be joined by two more DAFs later this year.

Keyo typically runs a mostly non-DAF fleet, however the XG ticked a lot of boxes.

For example, options such as DAF’s Digital Vision System impressed with drivers and the Key hierachy.

Josh Van Den Bos, welfare and compliance manager at Keyo, explained the decision.

“When it comes to choosing vehicles to join our fleet, we have several key requirements,” he said.

“We needed a large, modern and comfortable truck, as well as the best possible fuel economy.”

Continuing, Van Den Bos added that the latest driver aids were essential to achieve “optimum productivity”.

“What’s more, we also expect the highest level of build quality and a first-class aftersales service.”

Keyo’s XG tractors will soon enter service, specifically transporting plant machinery for farming and food production customers.

The company’s drivers regularly overnight in their cabs and therefore can be required to work in challenging locations.

For example, they are no strangers to compact farmyards and narrow farm tracks.

Therefore, Keyo had no hesitation in adding more DAFs to the company’s fleet.

“On paper, the performance of the XG is outstanding,” said Van Den Bos.

“We cover 70,000km a year in each wagon and the new DAFs provide a great working environment for our drivers.

“When you’re covering those distances, you need to be confident in the reliability of your truck,” he added.

“The cab size is exceptional, as are the internal and external technology features.”

Concluding, Van Den Bos admitted: “We couldn’t be happier with the quality of the XG.”
